An illustration for the European Breeding Bird Atlas. I have been lucky with several of the species for the project, and the Crossbills are no exception. Along with Parrot, I have also been tasked with illustrating Two-barred and Scottish Crossbill.

Original copy painted by hand, with watercolor technique on special paper for watercolor.
