Little Terns are a scarce summer visitor to Ireland, nesting along stony coast-lines and quiet off-shore islands. This painting was based on one of a few pairs that nest on Tory Island, as they relaxed on a calm summers evening.
Original copy painted by hand, with watercolor technique on special paper for watercolor.
